Contexte | Nepal’s art and culture sectors, encompassing music, documentaries, and photography play a crucial role in fostering creativity, social dialogues, innovation and social inclusion. They have the transformative power to shape our understanding of one other and the intricate social, political, economic and ecological challenges we face today. Furthermore, the confluence of various ethnicities, languages, and traditions has endowed Nepal with a unique cultural tapestry, evident in its documentaries, photography and music. However, these sectors face common challenges such as inadequate trainings, skills gap, professionalism, financial constraints and policy support. |
Objectifs | Young Nepali artists, including those from discriminated groups, are empowered to foster creative expression and pursue their professional development and contribute to a vibrant and diverse cultural landscape and the cultural and economic development of Nepal. |
Groupes cibles | The primary beneficiaries for arts and culture programme in Nepal are independent cultural and artistic organisations/initiatives/spaces, educational institutions, cultural professionals and artists from all seven provinces of Nepal. They will be supported through a grant scheme engaging them in capacity building programs, exhibitions and interdisciplinary arts that has an educational approach to it. Furthermore, the arts and culture programme will also target youth and discriminated groups. In addition, special attention will be given to young art practitioners and organisations from underserved regions. |
