The FDFA condemns executions in Iran

The FDFA condemns the execution of about 20 persons in Iran at the weekend.

Further mass executions were carried out in Iran at the weekend. According to independent sources, about 20 persons were executed. In the framework of its human rights dialogue with Iran, the FDFA has regularly protested against the use of the death penalty in Iran, and in particular against the execution of young offenders. The FDFA calls on the Iranian authorities to abolish the death penalty and all forms of corporal punishment.
