As part of the FDFA's periodic transfer rotation and on the basis of appointments made by the Federal Council, personnel changes and the conferment of ambassadorial titles will take place in 2025 at several Swiss representations and at the head office of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) at the Federal Department of Justice and Police (FDJP).

Appointments

Charlotte Bleisch has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Chile, based in Santiago de Chile.

Riccarda Chanda has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Republic of Djibouti and the Republic of South Sudan as well as Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the African Union (AU), the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), based in Addis Ababa.

Siroco Messerli has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Kyrgyz Republic, based in Bishkek.

Alexander Renggli has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Hungary, based in Budapest.

Conferment of ambassadorial titles at the FDFA

Jonas Brunschwig has been awarded the title of ambassador for his new role as consul general in San Francisco.

Muriel Peneveyre has been awarded the title of ambassador for her new role as the head of Switzerland's OSCE chairmanship task force at the FDFA State Secretariat in Bern.

Christoph Ernst Späti has been awarded the title of ambassador for his new function as Special Representative of the Finnish OSCE Chairmanship for the South Caucasus in Bern.

Conferment of an ambassadorial title elsewhere

Hendrick Krauskopf has been awarded the title of ambassador for his new role as the head of international affairs and vice director of the SEM at the FDJP in Bern.
