The International Geneva Welcome Centre (CAGI) is the one-stop shop for newcomers working for International Geneva. Founded in 1996 by the Swiss Confederation and the Republic and Canton of Geneva, the CAGI is supported by more than 30 national and local, public and private entities. Its mission is threefold:

  1. Welcome and integration in Geneva and the Lake Geneva region of employees of international organisations, non-governmental organisations, diplomatic missions and consulates, multinational companies, as well as doctoral students and professors at the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG), or at the University (UNIGE), by offering them and their families appropriate services for their settling in and stay,
  2. Accommodation for delegates from developing countries to facilitate their stay during their participation in conferences, training or meetings within the framework of International Geneva,
  3. Advice and support for NGOs in establishing and maintaining themselves in Geneva, in conjunction with the relevant cantonal authorities

Through its mission, the CAGI contributes fully to strengthening the influence of Geneva as the main centre of international cooperation.
